Skateboarding is considered as most innovative and wild spirited sport worldwide. There have been innumerable changes, innovation, introduction of new techniques and skills in this sport. Early skateboarding used to be boards on wheels until street skateboarding started. Till street skateboarding had come into existence, new innovations had been made regarding colors and structure of skateboard. The period of 1960-1963 saw the best things happened in the skateboarding as millions of skateboards were sold out during this period by several firms in different parts of the world and moreover, street skateboarding had become an eminent sport due to the presence of innovative and fun-filled element in it.  In the year 1965 skateboarding had come to halt because of appraisal of security concerns by general public from various sources. Skateboarding was going through its worst phase as it caused downfall in both skateboarding firms and among skateboarders.

Numerous accidents discouraged the safety workers to continue skateboarding and allow people to surf the skateboard but its existence was for while only. The skateboarders could not find any safety and proper element to surf on except house boards which was extremely dangerous to balance and would cause severe injuries. In the year 1972, Nasworthy invented urethane sports wheels. It is similar to what most skateboarders use today. It brought new spark among skateboarders and what once was bumpy, noisy, loud and boring experience had transformed to thrilling, adventurous and fun- filled experience.

In the year 1973, some new skateboarders with their innovative curious style gave boom to skateboarders enabling them to try distinct and unique styles of skateboarding. The new urethane sport wheel had replaced old wood and house board skateboards which would give an edge to new generation and old style skateboarders to surf on with styles like street skateboarding, oceanic skateboarding etc.  In the year 1975 in California oceanic festival a freestyle contest was held. A group of skateboarders named Zephyr, had displayed innovative, clean and low and some thrilling skateboarding to the world showcasing real professional skateboarding and inspiring tons of peoples round the world to do the same with their skills and techniques.

The first out of the doors skate park was built in Florida in the year 1976 due to which hundreds of other out of the doors skate park was been constructed throughout north America.  Once the sport which seemed to have lost its spark and ambience among people had become one of the best sports and hobby for skateboarders.  In the year 1978 with the innovation of new skateboarding style named no hand’s aerial had brought skateboarding to the subsequent level. Due to innovation of this style freestyle had become prominent and one would find images of skull on the skateboards due the innovation of new style. In the year 1980 a downfall occurred once again in the world’s most adventurous sport as skate park insurance coverage was too expensive for homeowners and they shut their doorways.
